Researchers in ACES research employ state-of-the-art numerical simulations to develop and test ideas about planetary dynamics. Computational Earth science studies on ACES will include problems ranging from small-scale ocean turbulence calculations to multi-million year mantle convection simulations and from atmospheric cloud process studies to ocean ecosystem behaviors. All the studies are linked by a common of goal of developing understanding of the workings of planetary systems.
